  MICHAEL JACKSON's embattled daughter Paris has refused to celebrate her birthday ever since her father's untimely death in 2009, a court has heard.
  The superstar's personal chef Kai Chase made the startling revelation in a Los Angeles court on Tuesday (18Jun13) as she testified in the ongoing wrongful death lawsuit filed by the King of Pop's mother, Katherine, and the singer's three children against concert promoters AEG Live.
  Chase opened up about Jackson's life as a doting dad, telling jurors he would always make sure his kids, Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket, were eating healthily and got enough sleep before school sessions.
  She went on to describe Paris' last birthday party in April, 2009, when the 11-year-old's father hired a private circus - featuring men on stilts and women performing in a giant balloon - to entertain his children, while the Thriller hitmaker's songs played throughout the bash, at the request of his daughter.
  Chase, who is now employed by Katherine Jackson, also recalled how she had helped Paris decorate a room dedicated to her beloved dad, and told the court, "Paris hasn't had any birthdays since. She hasn't wanted to celebrate since."
  The shocking testimony comes just 13 days after Paris Jackson, now 15, was hospitalised following an apparent suicide attempt at her Calabasas, California home.
  A statement released at the time by her grandmother Katherine's attorney, Sandra Ribera, suggested the teenager was still struggling to come to terms with her dad's passing: "Being a sensitive 15 year old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you. Please respect her privacy and the family's privacy."
  The wrongful death lawsuit accuses AEG Live bosses of ignoring the tragic superstar's health issues prior to his doomed This Is It comeback concerts.

  Former child star MILEY CYRUS has defended her decision to smoke weed, insisting it is far less dangerous than alcohol.
  The singer/actress, who shot to fame as Disney's Hannah Montana, landed in hot water in 2010 when she was caught on film allegedly smoking pot from a bong.
  She has also recently joined cannabis fan Snoop Dogg in the studio for a track called Ashtrays and Heartbreak, and has now opened up on her feelings on using the drug.
  In a candid new interview with Rolling Stone, she was asked if she is a "stoner", and the 20 year old replied, "You can't ask someone that and expect them to say yes. I did a song with Snoop Dogg called Ashtrays and Heartbreak, so people can put it together for themselves.
  "I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana. People can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care. I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed.
  "As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things... And it's legal in the state of California, so I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be." (MJ/NYDN/KL) HIDE STORY

  Rockers 30 SECONDS TO MARS reached new heights on Tuesday (18Jun13) when the band performed on the roof of the O2 Arena in London.
  The group, led by frontman Jared Leto, braved the blustery English weather to play an acoustic set atop the huge venue - 173 feet (52.7 metres) above the banks of the River Thames.
  The performance was in celebration of the O2 Arena's roof walk experience first anniversary, and the rockers - who wore harnesses for safety reasons - played tracks from the band's new album Love Lust Faith & Dreams.

  Rapper will.i.am is expanding his business empire by becoming a partner in a Los Angeles-based brand licensing and marketing company.
  The Black Eyed Peas frontman will help bosses at memBrain to come up with "visionary ideas" for their clients and will even direct ads for the new projects after tasting recent success with their joint recycling campaign for Coca-Cola, Ekocycle.
  Their work on Ekocycle has earned them a nomination for the top industry prize, the LIMA Licensing Excellence Award for best corporate brand licensing programme, and will.i.am is looking forward to embracing his new role at the firm.
  He says, "I am proud to join memBrain as a partner. I am excited about the opportunities to collaborate on current and future creative brand licensing projects."
